Upgrade, downgrade, or change a barn plan
Understand how plan changes affect rider limits, reviews, video tools, MEGAN analysis, and existing barn data.
Changing plans can change the rider limit and which review, video, and MEGAN tools the barn can use. Review those changes before adding riders or starting a video-review program.
Existing barn records are not automatically deleted when the plan changes, but tools that are not included in the new plan may no longer be available.
New barns begin on Free. The one-time Trial does not start during signup and does not require a credit card.
Paid plan changes are support-managed unless BarnPage has enabled Paddle billing for the barn. When Paddle billing is active or trialing, that paid subscription becomes the effective Starter, Standard, or Premium access tier.
What each change can affect
- Moving from Free to Starter unlocks manual lesson reviews and scorecards.
- Starting the one-time Trial from Plan & Billing adds manual reviews, scorecards, video, MEGAN Ringside, and Arena Prep for 14 days with 20 riders and 35 MEGAN analyses. When it ends, the barn returns to Free access automatically.
- Moving from Starter to Standard unlocks video upload/playback and 150 MEGAN analyses each calendar month.
- Moving to Premium removes the monthly MEGAN analysis quota, adds MEGAN Ringside lesson and Arena Prep planning, and adds priority support.
- When Trial expires or a barn downgrades, new manual reviews, scorecards, video uploads, MEGAN analysis, or Trial/Premium-only MEGAN Ringside and Arena Prep planning may become unavailable if the resulting plan does not include them.
- Rider limits are checked separately from MEGAN analysis quota.
Before downgrading
- Review how many active riders the barn has.
- Finish any urgent video review or manual review work before removing plan access.
- Tell trainers which review, video, or planning tools will no longer be available after the change.
- Contact support if you need help understanding existing video or review access before changing plans.
Troubleshooting
A feature disappeared after a plan change.
Check whether the new plan includes that feature. Free does not include manual reviews, scorecards, video upload, or MEGAN. Starter does not include video upload or MEGAN. Trial access expires after 14 days.
The barn is over the rider limit after a downgrade.
Review active rider profiles and invited student riders, then contact support or a BarnPage admin if a temporary rider-limit override is needed.
