Use MEGAN Arena Prep

Generate a Trial/Premium trainer-only starting arena layout, then move through Arena Mode lessons one at a time.

MEGAN Arena Prep is a Trial/Premium trainer planning tool in Ringside Arena Mode. Barn Specific templates are the non-MEGAN alternative when staff want to start from a saved layout.

It reviews the day’s lessons, arena details, calendar blocks, riders, horses, rider focus areas, horse level/discipline, and recent trainer-approved MEGAN exercise suggestions when available.

Inputs can include all lesson titles, lesson types, date/times, arena assignments, free-text lesson descriptions, Ringside lesson notes, calendar block titles/descriptions, arena surface, required width and length, capacity, lights, notes, rider levels, rider disciplines, rider goals, rider focus areas, horse assignments, horse level, horse disciplines, and recent trainer-approved MEGAN exercise suggestions.

If no recent approved MEGAN exercise history is available, Arena Prep creates a lower-confidence baseline from rider focus areas, rider level, rider discipline, horse level, horse discipline, lesson type, arena details, and lesson notes.

Baseline plans should stay conservative and low-impact, favoring flatwork, transitions, cones, figures, spacing markers, and poles on the ground while avoiding jumping, grids, oxers, repeated efforts, or conditioning-heavy work.

Arena Mode can start from a Barn Specific template or from MEGAN Arena Prep. Either path produces a confirmed starting layout that becomes the source of truth for the lesson sequence.

Arena Prep shows the starting layout diagram first. Trainers can edit that diagram by adding, removing, moving, rotating, or changing arena objects before confirming it.

After the trainer confirms the edited or original layout, Arena Mode unlocks lessons one at a time. MEGAN first drafts Arena Setup Changes for the current lesson, then MEGAN Ringside can generate an arena-aware plan after the trainer confirms those changes.

Diagrams use a standardized 1:2.17 visual arena for readability. The barn’s real arena dimensions are still used for safety and spacing context, but not to stretch the drawing.

Arena-aware lesson plans may use small setup changes that preserve the approved layout, such as lowering a rail, changing height/type at the same standards, or using staged standards that already exist.

Arena state is carried forward in order: after the trainer confirms the current lesson’s setup changes and completes the lesson, the next lesson uses the updated arena state.

Steps

  1. 1Open Ringside.
  2. 2Switch from Lesson Mode to Arena Mode.
  3. 3Review the day’s lessons and calendar blocks grouped by arena.
  4. 4Use the Arena view switcher to focus on one arena when the barn has multiple arenas.
  5. 5Choose a Barn Specific template and tap Use Template, or tap Arena Prep to have MEGAN draft a starting layout.
  6. 6Review the starting setup, starting diagram, carry-forward assumptions, safety notes, and fallback plan.
  7. 7Use Edit Layout if the trainer needs to add, remove, move, rotate, or change objects before confirming.
  8. 8Tap Confirm Layout under the starting diagram. Confirming the layout unlocks the first lesson.
  9. 9For the current lesson, generate Arena Setup Changes, review the diagram and notes, then tap Confirm Changes.
  10. 10After setup changes are confirmed, tap Generate Arena-Aware Plan before marking the lesson complete.
  11. 11Complete the lesson when finished. The next lesson unlocks and uses the carried-forward arena state.
  12. 12Adjust everything for footing, weather, horse/rider readiness, equipment, and trainer judgment before using it.

Troubleshooting

Arena Prep shows a baseline plan.

That means recent approved MEGAN exercise history was missing or sparse. Review the conservative plan carefully and adjust for horse fitness, footing, and trainer judgment.

A lesson was added or moved after Arena Prep was generated.

Run Arena Prep again so the starting layout reflects the current schedule.

The trainer edits a confirmed layout after setup changes were already generated.

BarnPage marks downstream Arena Setup Changes as needing regeneration so the rest of Arena Mode uses the edited layout.

The setup does not fit the ring or footing.

Treat Arena Prep as draft prep only. Use the fallback plan or simplify the layout before teaching.

The diagram spacing does not match the real arena.

Use it as an approximate visual reference only. Confirm distances, footing, and safety before setting equipment.
